Jardine v0.1 available for download

An experimental preview release of Jardine, our Poplar compiler, is now available from the downloads page.

Poplar at SPLASH

I will present Poplar at the FREECO/Onward workshop at the SPLASH conference in Portland, Oregon.

The associated paper is Poplar: Java Composition with Labels and AI Planning.

Update October 23: The slides for my talk are here.

Delayed release

Currently, some important parts of Poplar are being redesigned, and the first release has been temporarily put on hold.

Introducing Poplar

Poplar is an extension to the Java programming language, aimed at solving API-related problems that occur when upgrading software components. Poplar makes it easy to integrate, evolve and re-integrate classes.

It is developed as a research project at the National Institute of Informatics by Johan Nyström-Persson.

We are currently developing a Poplar compiler known as Jardine. We aim to release the very first alpha version (with slightly reduced features) of Jardine to the public in June 2011 on this web site, along with documentation and examples.
